NANNING, China: The secretariats of the China-ASEAN Expo (CAEXPO) and MCS 2024 have officially joined forces, setting the stage for a dynamic partnership to enhance cross-border business exchanges at the summit. This collaboration was formalised during the CAEXPO in Nanning, China, to bring a robust delegation of nearly 50 China companies to MCS 2024 in December.
The formalisation of the partnership took place at MATRADE’s booth at the Malaysia Pavilion, where Guangxi CAEXPO International Exhibition Co., Ltd., represented the CAEXPO Secretariat, and Richard Teo, Executive Chairman of Qube Integrated Malaysia Sdn Bhd, represented MCS 2024.
Qube Integrated, in association with the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE), is spearheading the organisation of the summit as part of Malaysia’s commemoration of 50 years of diplomatic relations with China.
Richard Teo hailed this partnership as a meaningful step forward for Malaysia-China trade relations. “This partnership between CAEXPO and MCS 2024 marks an important milestone in strengthening the economic ties between Malaysia, China, and ASEAN,” Teo said.
“With nearly 50 companies from China participating, we are opening new pathways for business growth, innovation, and collaboration.”
Teo added that this collaboration, representing a powerful alignment of two prestigious platforms, underlines both platforms’ shared commitment to creating new opportunities across the ASEAN region. The participation of the CAEXPO network at the summit will enhance the diversity and richness of discussions, particularly at the Trade and Investment Expo and the high-level Leadership Conference.
Scheduled to take place from 17–19 December 2024 at the Malaysia International Trade and Exhibition Centre (MITEC), MCS 2024 is a landmark event. The summit will feature more than 500 exhibitors from Malaysia, China, and ASEAN, with over 10,000 trade delegates expected to attend.
With its theme, “Prosperity Beyond 50,” MCS 2024 will centre on five key pillars that focus on the future: Knowledge and Experience, Opportunity, Tech, Growth, and Mobility. These pillars are designed to guide discussions, exhibitions, and forums that will touch on the most pressing and forward-looking topics shaping industries in Malaysia, China, and ASEAN.
In addition to the CAEXPO partnership, MCS 2024 has also secured the participation of 500 China companies through a collaboration with the Malaysian Chamber of Commerce and Industry in China (MAYCHAM China).
